The City of Shells

Visiting Piúma, the tourist is enchanted by the “Praça Da. Carmen” (Da. Carmen Square), an homage to the artisan who innovated the production of shell craft; by the mosaics created with skill and beauty in the walls, in the interior of houses and restaurants, in the stores; by the traffic signals (symbols of the city); by the traditional presence of the shell sellers and seekers up and down the beaches; and by the originality and high level of the shell craft displayed in stores and boutiques.
